A Mathematics Workshop was organised by Bharati Bhawan on 23rd March, 2022 at STEM World School. The eminent resource person for this workshop was Ms Kakoli Bagchi, and was attended by nearly 30 teachers of STEM World School. The duration of the workshop was two and a half hours. The workshop began with the welcome speech by Mrs Koushiki Majumder, a teacher of our school. Ms. Bagchi gave a briefing on how enlivened it seems that the workshops are starting again after the breach of two years. In the ‘new normal’, the kids as well as the teachers are struggling with the transition as there are many challenges, and among them one is that Mathematics is regarded as a difficult subject and Maths anxiety has been suggested to decrease the performance of the students. In order to lessen the Maths phobia among children, she guided the teachers how to conduct various interesting activities in the class and even prepare worksheets that the children just enjoy solving them without knowing that actually they are learning maths. The activities and worksheets should lead to the students’ over all development and guided the teachers to teach the subject in a constructive way. In a nutshell, the purpose of the workshop was to reach the teachers of the school with a new paradigm of mathematics education. The session was concluded with a token of love and thanks given to the resource person by the academic coordinator, Mrs Papri Roy Chowdhury on behalf of STEM World School, followed by a sumptuous lunch.
