DIYA MAKING ACTIVITY

Diyas symbolise goodness and purity, and lighting them denotes dispelling darkness and going into light. As Deepavali is celebrated on the new moon day, a time of darkness everywhere; people light these lamps or diyas to get rid of darkness. The light symbolizes knowledge and wisdom, while darkness is a symbol for all negative forces, such as wickedness, destruction, violence, lust, envy, injustice, greed, oppression and suffering. Therefore the students of Class 2 of STEM World School have shown their own creativity by decorating the diyas to bring prosperity, knowledge, wisdom and the triumph of light over dark, good over evil.
