It has given us the prestigious name as an 'Indian'. But do you know, many years ago, more than two hundred years ago, we were deprived of the honour of being an Indian, as our motherland was colonized by British rulers? Our country India, along with its people suffered a lot during that era. But Indians are brave children of their motherland. Some brave heroes faught against British rulers and snatched freedom from them. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Khudiram Basu, Master da Surya Sen, Mahatma Gandhi, Matangini Hajra, Pritilata Waddedar, Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Mangal Pandey - are one of those brave warriors who faught in their own way and bound British rulers to leave our country. This memorable occasion took place on 15th August, 1947. From that day onwards we celebrate 15th August as the Independence Day of India. It is a very proud day for all of us and we all feel honoured being the citizens of free India. It also gives a proud feeling to see the 'Nanhe munnhe rahi' of Pre-Primary of STEM World School to learn and celebrate the 77th Independence Day of India in a very enthusiastic and cheerful way.
