At STEM World School, we have taken an initiative to set up a “CENTRE OF ENRICHMENT” for teachers of various schools spanning over the large geographical area in and around Barrackpore. The idea is to include the teachers of our schools and to create an opportunity for them to interact with the best minds in the field of education to enrich themselves and to impart this acquired knowledge to their students in the classrooms. This aims to bring about a significantly better equipped and more successful young generation of students in our schools. With this inspiration for enrichment in mind, we are collaborating with some leading organizations to promote these educational activities. As our maiden initiative, we are privileged to have organized a workshop, in our School, on Saturday, October 07, 2023 in collaboration with Oxford University Press, Kolkata on “Foundational Literacy and Numeracy”, and “Blended Approach”, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. 70 teachers from 28 schools confirmed their attendance. The workshop on “Foundational Literacy and Numeracy” and “Blended Approach” was conducted by the Resource Person Mr Devakalpa Ghosh, a senior academic consultant. As a pan India Resource Person for Oxford University Press, he regularly conducts sessions on a wide range of topics including classroom management, teachers' and students' motivation, career, study habits and personality counseling, modern pedagogic practices, and the use of technology in the classroom, classroom communication, creative teaching, etc., as well as subject-specific modules on Math, ICT and Science. We are thankful to all the schools who have sent their teachers to participate in this wonderful event, and feel emboldened to organize such programmes in the days to come.
