Diwali Celebration for Classes 3 - 5

‘Diwali’ or ‘Deepawali’, the festival of lights, is one of the most widely celebrated festivals of Hindus. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout India and in some other parts of the world. With this festival are associated many legends. It marks the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and the homecoming of Lord Rama after an exile of 14 years. As a matter of fact, this festival is the symbol of victory of the forces of virtue over evil. STEM World School organized a Pre-Diwali celebration program on November 10, 2023. All the students and teachers were very excited about the celebration. On this day all the students, wore colourful clothes. The celebration brought a festive mood in the school premises with an atmosphere of togetherness and hope. The students of the Junior School celebrated the festival of Diwali with great enthusiasm. To add a glamour to this celebration, the students made different kinds of hand crafts like diya decoration, ice-cream stick models, jewellery boxes, table mats, wall hangings, lanterns etc. The young students proved that creativity and talent do not have boundaries with adorning the class. Students also performed different cultural programs like dance, drama, songs etc. The students talked about the significance of the festival - how good always conquered the evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. Besides sensitizing students about the ill-effects of crackers, they also shared the guidelines of environment-friendly options for celebrating Diwali. Wonderful presentation of the celebration in our school instilled a sense of victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. The entire presentation filled the hearts of all with the spirit of Diwali and the celebration was enjoyed wholeheartedly.
