Rabindra Jayanti is an annually celebrated cultural festival, prevalent among Tagorephiles (people who love Tagore and his works) around the world, in remembrance of Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary. Tagore was a great Bengali poet, writer, philosopher, novelist and much more. In short, he was a Bengali polymath, who had knowledge of several subjects. He was born on 8th May, 1861, and this day is celebrated as Rabindra Jayanti. His most well-known work was his poetry book Geetanjali, for which he got a Noble Prize in Literature in 1913.He was the first Bengali as well as the first Indian who got the Nobel prize.He was a Bengali social reformer and best known for his notable contributions to literature, art, politics, and music.Rakhi Utsav was popularized by Rabindranath Tagore to promote the feeling of unity and brotherhood for all the members of the society to protect each other.
