Venue: The LaLiT Great Eastern, Kolkata Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Date: 07.09.2024 Resource persons: Ms Anahita Lee and Ms Ritu Malhotra Name of the teachers participated: Mrs Deepanjana Biswas, Mrs Srabanti Debnath, Mrs Chandni Dhar, Ms Labani Biswas Aims and purposes of the workshop: This workshop aims to discuss the impact of the National Curriculum Framework on the Foundational Stage, with a focus on providing innovative tools and strategies to teachers that will help them in fostering holistic learning through numeracy, literacy and skill development. Collins Learning resources are aligned with the principles and the vision of the NCF 2003.Their books focus on: • Recognizing the primary of formative years (ages 3-8), which includes building foundational literacy, numeracy and awareness of one’s environment. • Adopting a flexible, play based approach for foundational education, responsive to diverse learning needs. • Encouraging respect for diversity and local context in all curriculum and pedagogy. • Fostering child - centred, inquiry based, discovery – based, discussion based and analysis based learning. Outcomes of the workshop: The workshop ensure that the key learning goals from the NCF 2003 are met comprehensively. The NCF provides a roadmap to deliver the principles, objectives and guidelines for the educational landscape in India. The learning should be value based not only fun based.
